Dubai, Abu Dhabi look to enhance energy cooperation

Top officials from both emirates’ energy councils hold talks on how to achieve UAE Vision 2021

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, met with Nasser Al Suwaidi, Member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Energy Authority.

They discussed ways to enhance cooperation to achieve UAE Vision 2021 that seeks to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world by 2021, strengthening its position as a global role model in achieving the highest standards of energy efficiency, and increasing its share of renewable and clean energy.

The meeting came as part of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy’s efforts to exchange skills and experiences with other government, federal and local organisations to achieve the UAE’s vision of enhancing the government’s capabilities, especially energy. Al Tayer welcomed Al Suwaidi and commended the extensive efforts made by the Government of Abu Dhabi in energy and sustainability.
